It is said that sound sleep is a boon from God. Unfortunately, there are so many people who do not have this boon. It is not because God has frowned upon them, but it is actually due to their own negligence and lifestyle. The job that you do and the amount of stress that you face everyday can directly affect your sleep patterns. Very often, people follow irregular sleep patterns which lead to sleeplessness in the night. There are different options for people who cant sleep. It is a must that an adult must get seven to eight hours of sleep everyday. There are many people who cannot fall asleep. They would have to take the help of some natural or scientific methods in order to sleep soundly.
Here are some natural remedies that should help you fall asleep:
- In case you cant sleep, try eating an early supper. Some people cannot sleep due to indigestion. Leave an hour between your meal time and your bed time. This should help you get good sleep.
- Try to fall into a regular sleep patterns of sleeping and waking up at the same time everyday.
- The main reason people cant sleep in the night is because they sleep during the day. You would have to avoid sleeping in the day. If you cannot avoid it then the best thing to do would be to sleep for only thirty minutes and that too only before three in the afternoon.
- Exercise should not be done before your regular bedtime. This can give you restlessness and you cant sleep due to this.
- Caffeine or alcohol can also knock of sleep and hence both these are a big “no-no” before you go to bed.
Try to take a good warm bath at least an hour before you sleep. A warm bath will relax all the muscles in your body and give you sound sleep. - After doing all this if you still cant sleep, it is suggested that you read a book while in bed. Books always induce sleep and hence it would be nice to read and fall asleep.
- In order to be active and fit you need to have a good night’s rest. If you do not have any major sleep disorders and your problem is that you just cant fall asleep, then all these natural remedies should help you get sound sleep.
